Turboant X7 Pro Review (2024)
Feature-Packed, Budget Scooter

Going green can start with switching out car rides for e-scooters at a short distance. The Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter is a reliable choice, but does it live up to the max distance and fast charging? Your money should be going to the best features, which is why our experts have created a thorough review of the electric scooter to answer all your questions.

Pros

Cons

Design

The Turboant X7 Pro smart scooter is equipped with rubber gripped handlebars that are a little narrow for some of our team’s liking, but we later found it to be very useful when maneuvering the scooter.

It also features an extra illuminated LED display screen that our team especially liked, which shows you the speed, battery levels, and speed mode. Riders get full control over the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter through the handlebars such as access to the rear disc brake, throttle, headlight, and bell.

As our experts mentioned in the cons section above, the Turboant X7 Pro is not the most lightweight electric scooter out there, but with all the features it provides, the brand really did the best they could.

The battery pack is stored in the handlebar system, which is what gives these electric scooters their heftier weight. Why has Turboant decided to design the X7 Pro this way? Of course, there are benefits to this choice.

It is one of the biggest reasons why you can have a detachable battery pack with the electric scooter. Placing it at the handlebars gives riders the option to charge the battery independently from the scooter to increase safety. Being detachable, it also gives riders the ability to switch them out when the battery capacity of one runs out.

The Turboant X7 Pro is constructed from aluminum alloy, which makes it very durable indeed. Plus, the deck has a grippy silicone rubber to make sure you have a good foothold.

Turboant X7 Pro Features

Motor Power

To start off the Turboant X7 Pro review of features, our team can easily say that the electric scooter is tough and reliable with a powerful 36-volt 350W motor. The motor itself and the motor controller are at the front, on the handlebar, and on the front wheel. Don’t worry, there is a front fender and rear that protect the motor from any dirt and mud.

Power Modes and Speed

Our recreational experts really appreciated the power modes on the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter, which are Beginner Mode, Eco-Mode, and Sport Mode. The maximum speed and minimum speed you can get from the Turboant X7 Pro depends on the rider’s weight, the battery charge, and the terrain, but the standard is 20 mph or 32 km.

The speed will also depend on the speed mode you choose. The Beginner mode will get you only up to 6 mph, which our team says is ideal for beginners, young children, and those looking to cruise. Speaking of cruise, there is also cruise control on the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooters.

Keep in mind that the actual speed you get will depend a lot on the terrain. Flat ground will let riders experience faster speeds without obstruction, and dirt tracks will give you a bumpy ride even for heavier riders.

Eco Mode will get you to about 12 mph. It’s not very fast because this speed setting is designed to conserve battery for a maximum range rather than get riders from point A to B as quickly as possible.

If speed is what you are looking for, then go for the Sports Mode, which allows riders to hit the electric scooter’s top speed. The Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter has a very responsive acceleration, so don’t go too hard on the throttle or you’ll end up on a very jarring ride.

Cruise control is activated when you hold the responsive throttle in place for about 6 seconds. If you’re going the distance, having cruise control is very handy. The sensitivity of the throttle also gives you a quicker acceleration curve.

Battery Life and Range

The most coveted feature urban commuters and our experts rave about is the battery, which is detachable, but it does add to the weight. You get a longer range with the lithium-ion battery up to 30 miles, which is definitely enough to get you to a corner store in many cities.

What multiple Turboant X7 Pro reviews showed was that it is very useful to purchase several batteries if you’re looking at a longer ride. When you notice the battery draining, simply replace the pack with a fully-charged one to keep going.

The removable battery is also easier to charge as you won’t need to carry the rest of the scooter around and as long as you are near a power supply. The Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter has a digital display that very clearly shows the battery life, so keep an eye on it while you’re on the road.

Weight and Portability

Our team has hinted at the heavier weight of the e-scooter, which most riders notice immediately. However, this is something we personally don’t mind dealing with, especially since it’s the build quality and the convenient removable battery that add to the heaviness.

The battery-free deck on the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter is also slightly more elevated, which makes it easier to clear bumps on the road.

Tires

You will notice the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter has larger tires that are mounted on a tubed pneumatic structure, which helps increase their longevity and also with shock absorption.

A very noticeable difference between the Turboant X7 Pro 10-inch pneumatic tires [1] compared to smaller 8.5-inch or solid rubber tires is the ride quality. For example, the X7 Pro e-scooter gives people a more comfortable ride that does not require a suspension system, whereas other more inferior models would need this extra feature due to poor quality tires.

Braking

The faster the top speed and further the distance an electric scooter can go, the more important it is to have a decent braking system. The Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter has a 16.4-foot braking distance and a triple regenerative electronic braking system.

You can find a hand-operated brake that controls the rear disc brake, a rear fender brake, or a foot brake on the rear wheel. When stepped on, the foot brake will activate the electric scooter’s emergency stop, which is useful for sudden halts.

Any sort of brake you use will activate a rear brake light near the rear wheel that signals traffic behind you that you’re coming to a stop.

Climbing Capacity

The Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter has an incline climbing capacity of 15 degrees, which is ideal for the geographical nature of most cities. Of course, the precise capability will depend on the top speed you’re going at, if you’re on cruise control, and the weight of the rider. The steeper the hill, the more difficult it will be for you to reach max speeds during hill climbing.

Display and Settings

As our team has mentioned, one of the best features of the electric scooter is the digital LED display. On it, you can easily scan all the relevant information such as the speed mode, battery level, and your exact speed.

You won’t find buttons in or around the display for settings, but you can see a function button and a power button close to the all-in-one ergonomically-designed throttle. This is where all the commands happen. You can access and change the settings on the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter without ever having to take your hands off of the handlebars.

User-Friendliness

The Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter is very user-friendly. Younger riders on our team, beginners, and more experienced pros had no issues figuring out how to use the foot brake, the motor braking, and even the folding mechanism. The LED lights are a subtle touch but one that really helps to illuminate the streets in low light conditions.

Our Turboant X7 Pro tests revealed that it is the best electric scooter for the detachable battery design, since most electric scooters have it attached. The cruise control function was also very handy for maintaining a constant speed. You will be able to go for longer distances without straining your wrist.

Weight Limit and Capacity

The weight has been mentioned many times in our Turboant X7 Pro review. The electric scooter is not the lightest on the market at 33 pounds, but since there is a folding mechanism, you can place it in a carrying bag for easier transport.

The weight limit the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter supports is 275 pounds, which can support most riders. If you’re on the heavier side, you will have noticed that many budget scooters don’t offer a high weight limit, which forced some people to purchase more expensive electric scooters for a comfortable ride.

Front and Rear Lights

The Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter features a 3W LED headlight which is not bad for urban cities but may not offer the illuminating distance of 5W or more on rural streets. A very thoughtful feature of the headlight is it is angled downwards, which will give you a clear sight of the road ahead of you without blinding oncoming traffic or people.

There are rear lights as well that activate when the brake is activated.

Water and Weather Resistance

The Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter has an IPX4 rating. What does this mean? The IP rating chart depicts a product’s resistance or protection against liquids and solids. More specifically, the first digit refers to solids and the second to liquids.

You will notice that the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter does not have a first digit after IP and instead has an X. The X means there isn’t protection against solids, but it has a second digit rating of 4, in regards to liquids.

A 4 rating in the liquids department means the electric scooter is protected against splashes of water. However, anything stronger than splashes such as projection or immersion could damage the scooter.

So if you’re thinking about riding the Turboant X7 Pro when it’s raining, you won’t have to worry. It’s generally protected against puddles, but we wouldn’t go joyriding through every puddle you see.

Price and Warranty

For the features of the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter, our expert riders feel that the electric scooter is very well priced for all you get. At close to 500, you get a rear wheel brake, fast top speeds with adjustable modes, a detachable battery, and cruise control to name a few aspects.

Our team would have liked the Turboant X7 Pro electric scooter to come with a longer warranty, as it only features a 6-month standard warranty, but you can extend it to a year if you register your product. New riders must do this via Turboant’s website within 7 days of their purchase.

If anything is defective with the scooter within the first 7 days, you can choose to invoke the warranty for repairs, a replacement, or a full refund. If anything defects start to show within the first 30 days, you won’t be eligible for a full refund but you can still choose to repair or replace the product.

FAQ

Does the Turboant X7 Pro have an app?

No, the Turboant X7 Pro does not have an app, so you cannot control the settings from your smartphone. However, the electric scooter does allow users to choose speed modes and change settings from miles to km or the other way around and to activate cruise control when needed with the function and power buttons.

Review Conclusion: Turboant X7 Pro

Our Turboant X7 Pro review revealed that this particular electric scooter is well worth the money. There isn’t much you need to do in terms of maintenance, as the scooter has an IPX4 rating. It can climb hills, cruise along at a consistent top speed, and illuminate the way with a 3W LED light with everything adjustable via the throttle and function and power buttons.
